My Favorite Kind of Morning

For the past few days, the weather has been beautiful. We've hit the 70's once or twice and with the exception of some thunderstorms that rolled in (scratch that, they roared in), the sun has been shining and clouds in the sky. Basically, the best preview of spring. So much so, that my tulips are being tricked.

Anyways, when I worked at the barn with the horses, the mornings of these beautiful days were my favorite. They still are. They are slightly chilly without being cold and there is the quiet peace about them. They are soothing, in a way. A sign that winter really is going to end, the days are getting longer, and the sunny weather of summer is right around the corner.

I guess I never think of January 1 as being the beginning of a new year, I think of spring as the beginning. And, how can it not be? New life popping up everywhere... flowers, baby bunnies, you get the point.

I miss these mornings at the barn. And, this morning at work... well, I'd rather be anywhere else.
